This follows the planned acquisition of approximately 66 percent of NCBA Group’s ordinary shares by Nedbank Group Limited.

NSE said the temporary trading halt was necessary to facilitate the orderly execution and settlement of the transaction.

“Following the lifting of the suspension, trading in NCBA Group Plc shares will be temporarily halted on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, to facilitate the execution of a block trade through the NSE Block Trade Board, pursuant to the acquisition by Nedbank Group Limited of approximately 66% of the issued ordinary shares of NCBA Group Plc,” the exchange stated.

Further, NSE said trading in NCBA shares will resume once the block trade process is completed.

Earlier in the year, Nedbank tabled a multibillion-shilling bid to acquire a controlling stake in NCBA Group Plc.

The proposed transaction, which values the targeted stake at about Ksh110 billion based on the offer terms, would see Nedbank acquire effective control of NCBA while retaining a substantial public float on the NSE.

In a public notice on Monday, February 9, NCBA informed shareholders and the investing public that Nedbank had served it with an Offeror’s Statement outlining the structure, conditions and strategic rationale of the proposed deal.
