Veteran British actor Idris Elba will host the Africa Day Concert on May 25, 2021. The event is organised by MTV Base and YouTube.
In 2020, the two companies joined forces to launch the inaugural Africa day Benefit Concert at Home, which was aimed at raising money for struggling African families in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The virtual event will also be used to showcase African talent making a mark within the continent.
The event will see African artists perform from Nairobi, Johannesburg, and Lagos. The event will be broadcasted on MTV channels and streamed live on YouTube.

Sauti Sol will lead the pack of African artists looking to bless the event with their performances. Others include Nigeria's Fireboy DML and South Africa's Sho Madjozi.
The musicians will entertain the global audience with some of their most famous and fan-favourite hits.
