American singer and actress Ashanti has shed some light on her Coronavirus diagnosis.
Notably, the singer tested positive for Covid-19 after finishing her short visit to Kenya. It sparked speculations that she might have contracted the virus from Kenya.
“Hey y’all, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m ok and not in any pain,” said Ashanti while announcing her diagnosis.
Following the news, fans questioned her if she contracted the virus while in Kenya.
Soon after, many people were quick to conclude and point out that she got the virus from Kenya, which is currently listed on the American COVID-19 travel advisory list.
However, in a video post, Ashanti has clarified that she didn’t get it from Kenya.
“Yes, I have been traveling. Yes, I went to Nairobi; I had an amazing time. No, I did not get COVID from traveling. I did not get COVID from being in Africa or anything like that,” said Ashanti.
The diagnosis came after Ashanti was scheduled to take part in a musical battle on the popular online show “Verzuz” against Keyshia Cole.
