In 2024, President William Ruto made over 22 foreign visits to different countries across the globe.
As highlighted by the Head of State, the foreign visits were aimed at improving bilateral and multilateral relationships between Kenya and other countries.
The most notable foreign visit was the State visit to the United States of America in May.
“These visits have resulted in the signing of the Memoranda of Understanding that speaks to Kenya's international commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering trade,” read the report in part.
“In the spirit of multilateralism, Kenya has received scholarships from various countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia, China, Commonwealth UK, Hungary, Serbia, Brunei, Russia, Morocco, Cuba, Algeria, Mauritius, Slovak, and Azerbaijan.”

January
On January 18-19, 2024 Ruto visited Uganda for the 42nd IGAD Extraordinary Summit & Non-Aligned Movement Summit.
After the Uganda visit, Ruto flew to the Democratic Republic of Congo on January 20, 2024, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President, Félix Tshisekedi.
Between January 28-30, 2024, the Head of State in Italy for the Italy-Africa Summit.
February
In February, the President was in Japan for two days for a State Visit.
He also travelled to the United Arab Emirates for the World Governments Summit 2024 and later went to Ethiopia for the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly.
Rito also attended the funeral of President Hage Geingob in Namibia on February 24, 2024. He also travelled to Uganda on February 26 for an official meeting.
March
Ruto only made one foreign visit to Zanzibar on March 14 for an official meeting.
April
In April, the President travelled to Ghana, Guinea Bissau and Tanzania. Additionally, he visited Zimbabwe for the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
May
Apart from the State Visit to the US, Ruto travelled to Rwanda on May 17 for the Africa CEO Summit.
"The USA is now donating to Kenya 16 helicopters and 150 Armoured Security Vehicles under an agreement signed between the two countries during the President’s State Visit," Ruto noted in a statement after the visit.
June
The Head of State was in South Korea for the Korea-Africa Summit between June 3-5.
August
Following the election of President Paul Kagame, Ruto visited Rwanda for his inauguration.
September
Ruto travelled to China, Germany, Haiti and the US for the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
October
The President was in Burundi on October 31 for the 23rd COMESA Summit.
November
On Friday, November 29, Ruto travelled to Arusha for the 24th Ordinary Summit of the East African Heads of State.
