Renowned Kenyan film makers Abel Mutua and Philip Karanja of Phil It TV, on Thursday took to the streets of Nairobi to sell their new film dubbed Grand Little Lie (GLL).

While carrying huge placards, the duo and other members of their team urged motorists to buy the link to the film which is scheduled to go live today midnight.

“Please Buy our film…Inaongeza nguvu za kiume,” the placard read in part.

The film premiered in Kenya on Friday October 1, at a red carpet screening held at the Nairobi Cinema. The screening was done for two days, after which other interested persons are expected to purchase a link to the film online.

Explaining why they had to take to the streets, Abel Mutua said : “Today is the day we’re dropping this film. We need to sell 50,000 links to enable us produce the next one. #PhilmAmbassadors tunaomba mtusaidie. Help us push!”

On his part, Philip Karanja said: “Tupatane kwa Traffic Jam near you… Staki serikali inisaidie, wacha nikuwe hawker. Nunua Sinema.”

A Grand Little Lie is the debut film from Phil It TV. Thefilm came after Abel Mutua’s fans popularly known as ‘Wakurugenzi’ challenged him to create a film for one of the stories he shared on his YouTube page.

According to Abel and Philip, the reception they receive from a Grand Little Lie will determine whether or not they produce another film.
