The Jubilee Party vice chair David Murathe has broken his silence four months after the August 9 General Election.
Murathe resorted to keeping a low-key profile after the vote in which he supported Azimio Raila Odinga ended in favour of President William Ruto.
Speaking for the first time after the polls, Murathe insisted he is still in Azimio despite the loss in the recently-held vote, demanding leaders respect Raila.
"When the late Mwai Kibaki took over, he partnered with Raila Odinga to bring free primary education. People must respect Raila. His father sacrificed a lot for Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. He then supported Kibaki in 2022 before he was short-changed In 2007, he did a handshake with Kibaki.
"In 2017 we were with Uhuru but he (Raila) still did a handshake with the president later. Doesn't he like peace? We are faithfully behind him," said Murathe.

He further launched an attack on Ruto's administration, accusing it of failing to deliver on some of the pre-election promises made.
Murathe, who is also the vice chair of the Azimio National Executive Committee, promised to unleash a bombshell soon regarding the politics around the concluded elections.
"People are talking a lot, but we know our truth. When the right time comes we will speak about politics...We were told prices of maize meal would lower, we have not seen that," he said.
He spoke on Saturday, December 3, while gracing the thanksgiving event of new Kilifi governor Gideon Mung'aro.
