President William Ruto is today, Tuesday, January 17, 2023, meeting members of constitutional commissions at Stated House Nairobi.
The meeting, according to State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talaam, will take place from 11 am.
“The President has been straightforward in giving his support to independent bodies. He wants to assure them that his administration will not interfere with their mandates,” Talam told a local daily.
Members of the constitutional commission that will be meeting Ruto include Kenya National Human Rights Commission, National Land Commission, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Parliamentary Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and Commission on Revenue Allocation.

Also in attendance will be Public Service Commission, Salaries and Remuneration Commission, Teachers Service Commission, National Police Service Commission and Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission.
The President during the campaigns pledged to ensure Independent commissions work for the benefit of residents without state interference.
The meeting comes on the day IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati and two commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye will be exiting the office after serving their constitutional term of six years.
It is not clear yet whether Chebukati will be at the State House for the meeting.
