Former Kameme Fm presenter John Njogu WA Njoroge who was fired on allegations of working with President William Ruto has been handed a plum role in government.
Kameme Fm has been linked to the family of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, a key supporter of Ruto’s chief competitor in the August 9, 2022 polls.
In a Gazette Notice dated February 24, Ababu Namwamba, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts, appointed Njogu wa Njoroge the Chairperson of The Kenya Films and Classification Board.
Njogu Wa Njoroge will serve alongside board members who are John Muigai Nyururu, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito.

The group will serve, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 24th of February 2023.
The appointment comes a year after the journalist was sacked by Kameme FM.
The sack came after he was pictured with President William Ruto, then Deputy President at his Karen official residence.
