The United States Embassy in Kenya has refuted claims that the President Joe Biden administration has revoked a visa held by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The US Embassy also dismissed reports that visas belonging to Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro had been revoked.
“I can confirm that the report doing rounds is fake as there has been no such communication from the United States Government,” US Embassy Nairobi Spokesman Andrew Veveiros said.

This comes after a fake statement circulating online claimed that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had revoked the visas of the four.
The statement added that the four politicians planned and sponsored attacks on private properties owned by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga on Monday, March 27, 2023.
"These visa revocations demonstrate that the United States will promote accountability not only for regime leaders but also for officials who enable the regime's assaults on democracy and human rights," the fake statement reads in part.
