Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has warned of God's punishment following the arrest of Kilifi-based preacher Ezekiel Odero.
In a tweet, the MP termed the arrest as ill-advised suggesting that the preacher was being victimised for sins committed by Controversial Preacher Paul Mackenzie.
The MP openly opposed the arrest saying the police should not do a blanket condemnation of the church just because one preacher acted in an inhumane manner.
"I don't think it was warranted for police to arrest Pastor Ezekiel Odero. One criminal who was running a cult and another one referring to himself as Yesu wa Tongaren cannot be the cause and or result of blanket condemnation of the church. God will punish us heavily for this... I strongly oppose this act," the Kimilili MP said.
