Alego Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi has stated that President William Ruto was wrong to link Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla to the August 2022 alleged attempt by the previous regime to overturn his win during a joint interview with media houses on Sunday.
Speaking on Monday, May 15 during Citizen TV’s DailyBreak show, Atandi opined that the Head of State had lost it when he linked Ogolla to the incident.
“To discuss the issues of Bomas and link them with General Ogolla, I think that is an error where the President has lost it a bit,” said Atandi.

The ODM MP also claimed that the remarks by President Ruto might damage Ogolla’s reputation and attract disrespect from his juniors.
“From where I sit Ogolla is competently in office and the fact that he was made chief of the defence forces is something that we celebrate and we believe that the president should not continue to make such utterances that will spoil the reputation of Ogolla.
“Because when you say that there were many people that could have been appointed yet he has been appointed, you are not giving him the stature that he deserves. He will sit in an office and his juniors will look at him like he is not the best,” Atandi added.
President Ruto on Sunday noted that despite Ogolla's mistake in last year's polls, he still appointed him the CDF in the military.
"General Ogolla is among the people who went to Bomas to try and overturn my victory. But because when I looked at his CV, he was the best person to be General. I made the decision against the advice of many people," President Ruto said.
