Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has accused President William Ruto of lying to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula over government appointments.
Speaking on Saturday, June 10 in Bungoma, Raila claimed that President Ruto duped the two leaders that he would give 30 percent of government appointments to the Luhya community.
He alleged that Luhyas are being fired from the government and they are replaced by Kenyans from one tribe.
“Alikua anadanganya bwana Mudavadi na Wetang’ula ati watapata asilimia thelathini kwa serikali, iko wapi? Waluhya wanafutwa kazi kabila moja inawekwa, lakini Wakenya wote wanatoa ushuru. Kenya haiwezi kua ya kabila moja ama mbili peke yake,” Raila stated.

The former Prime Minister also asked President Ruto to accommodate all Kenyans in the government, saying he would write to the United Nationals to ask for self-determination if the Kenya Kwanza administration continues to discriminate against other tribes.
“Hatuwezi kukubali ubaguzi wa kikabila. Kama mtaendelea hivyo tutaandika barua kwa Umoja wa Kimataifa tupige kura ya maoni,” Raila added.
The former Prime Minister further asked Members of Parliament to vote against the Finance Bill 2023 saying it would be a burden to the already burdened Kenyans.
