Unveiling candidate
His announcement came as UDA unveiled Bishop Margaret Wanjiru as the party's flag in the Nairobi gubernatorial by-election.
Bishop Wanjiru stated that the party would fight to have a by-election in Nairobi, insisting that their position was based on the law.
She accused powerbrokers of plotting to avoid a by-election by installing a deputy governor who would replace Sonko as the county boss.
“Our opponents are afraid to engage us in a contest but the law must be followed. We must have a by-election and I believe our justice system will prevail and they will uphold the law.
