Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has opined that National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi and Nominated MP John Mbadi should resign from their position.
In a statement on Thursday August 3, Kabando said that Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga should take over the positions and lead the opposition within parliament.
Kabando noted that Raila will thrive if he oversights the government within the National Assembly.
“ODM Chairman John Mbadi should resign as a nominated MP and Hon Opiyo Wandayi as the Minority Leader for Right Honourable Raila Odinga to take up the two respective slots to effectively marshal oversight within and without the legislature. Agwambo's resilient enigma will spur,” he tweeted.
The former MP at the same time pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza’s move to create the position of Office of the Leader of the Opposition is aimed at sanitizing Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s position, which he termed unconstitutional.

“Weird to mutilate CoK2010 to create a post for Raila Odinga as leader of official opposition and to deodorise an illegal 'pcs' post occupied by Musalia Mudavadi It's impunity, cultist, dynastic & occultism. What happens to Senate and 47 County Assemblies? Hail Constitutionalism,” Kabando added.
This comes after the Kenya Kwanza coalition listed the position of Office of the Leader of the Opposition as one on the issues to be discussed in the fresh negotiations with the Azimio coalition.
The ruling coalition listed the embedment of the Office of Prime Cabinet Secretary, the reconstitution of the IEBC Commission, the implementation of 2/3 gender rule and the entrenchment of Constituency Development Fund as other issues to be discussed.
Azimio on the other hand want the panel to discuss the high cost of living, audit of 2022 elections, bipartisan reconstitution of IEBC, inclusivity in national affairs, and respect for political parties in line with the constitution.
