The KCSE Candidate was to sit her exams at the hospital where she had been admitted. 

A KCSE candidate has been reported dead minutes before she sat for her examination.

Mercy Stacy Juma of Boro Secondary School passed on at Siaya Medical hospital on Tuesday. 

She had been admitted at the facility Monday night and was scheduled to sit her afternoon exams when she died exactly 10 minutes to the time.

"She passed on at 1350hrs at Siaya Medical Hospital Where she had been admitted after complaining of severe diarrhea and vomiting," a police OB report filed at Siaya Police Station read in part.

According to police, Stacy was to sit her exams at 1400Hrs at the hospital.

Lab test results, the police report adds, showed that the deceased student was suffered from Kidney failure.

Officers from Siaya police station visited the scene during which they confirmed the developments.

The remains of the deceased students have been preserved at the Siaya Medical centre.

This is the latest tragedy to have hit the 2023 KCSE exam. 

It came shortly after a teacher died after being hit with a chopper propeller in Wajir. 

The Deputy Head teachers was at the time an exam centre manager. 

The teacher was hit by a chopper propelelr while disembarking from it.
