Lands and Urban Planning Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has sanctioned the suspension of two officials under her docket over the grabbing of public land.
The CS together with other ranking officers from the Ministry toured the Thika Cemetery whose part locals claimed had been illegally earmarked for development.
Wahome established that the developer got help from the officials to get a tract, evicting sand sellers and other traders in the process.
She said that starting Monday, February 12, the officials who issued the title to the grabbers would be sent packing in the course of the probe.

"Those who issued the documents transferring ownership are going to be suspended...The records are adulterated and are not proper. We will not allow the grabbers to use them," she said.
The CS further ordered the police stationed at the cemetery to leave immediately.
She accused the officers of being misused in the fraudulent acts by the developers running after land owned by the public.
Meanwhile, the traders around the tract were allowed back to continue with their day-to-day activities.
