Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has cornered two armed robbers and recovered Ksh436,000 cash in Ethiopian currency.
The successful operation came after members of the public tipped the detectives who cornered the armed criminals in Moyale, Marsabit County.
DCI officers then recovered a pistol which they allegedly used to threaten the suspects before robbing them of the money.
Besides the pistol, the DCI officers also recovered Ksh83,000 which was in Kenyan currency.
"The duo who were riding on a motorcycle REG KMEY 518 were found with an Eckol pistol and 4 rounds of ammunition marked in Ethiopian Italics which Police seized. Also recovered was cash in Kenyan currency amounting to Ksh. 83,000 and Ethiopian Birr 169,995.," DCI Statement read in part.

"The two; Dhenge Guyo Molu and Kotor Ali Jillo were detained at Moyale Police Station pending collection to TOCU offices in Nairobi," it added.
Meanwhile, two other suspects involved in a botched robbery were arrested at the Hilo mining site still in Moyale, and a rifle loaded with six live rounds was seized by the OCS Dabel station.
The two suspects; Kelisa Dulacha Guyo and Wario Ana Halake were cornered at a shop within the Hilo Gold mine after the shopkeeper made a distress call.
The two will be arraigned on Monday 19, where appropriate charges will be preferred.
