The national government through the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) has announced the mass auction of vehicles and used furniture.
In a notice printed on MyGov publication, KALRO invited interested bidders to also acquire laboratory equipment, office equipment, farm equipment, scrap materials, old tyres, ICT equipment and accessories, and Batteries, among others on the public auction.
"Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) invites you to the auction of KALRO Boarded assets that shall be conducted by M/S Garam Investments Auctioneers, M/S Valley Auctioneers, M/S Felina Commercial Auctioneers
and M/S Keysian Auctioneers," the Kenyan research organization stated while revealing dates for different auctions.

Prospective bidders are advised to inspect the items on site by arrangement with the respective Institute /Centre Directors during official working hours (8.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.), as the same is not warranted by KALRO or the Auctioneer.
Items in KALRO Industrial Crops Research Centre, Sericulture shall be viewed where they are but bidding will be done at KALRO Horticulture Research Institute, Kandara, simultaneously.
Items in KALRO, Veterinary Research Institute, Muguga shall be viewed where they are but the bidding will be conducted at KALRO, Biotechnology Research Institute, Muguga, simultaneously.
Each interested bidder shall be required to make a Refundable Bidding Fee of Ksh50,000 per Lot for each desired Motor vehicle and Ksh5,000 per Lot for other categories of goods/ equipment.
Upon making the Payment, a receipt will be issued and used to obtain the bidding number at the point of registration.
Registration of interested and eligible bidders will be done at least one hour before the start of the auction in the respective Auction Centre.
The reserve price for each Lot is contained in the Asset Disposal Catalogue and the items shall be sold on an “As-ls- Where-ls” basis at a price not lower than the indicated Reserve Price.
At the fall of the Hammer, the highest bidder shall be required to pay at least 25% of the total bid price before being
allowed to participate in the next lot. Payment shall be either through the Pay Bill number to be provided by the KALRO Auction Centre Cashier.
In case the successful bidder fails to pay 25% at the fall of the Hammer, the item shall be sold to the second-highest bidder and the highest bidder shall forfeit the Bidding Fee to KALRO.
