President William Ruto has announced a plan to convert the historical facility Bomas of Kenya into an ultra-modern hotel.
Speaking during the Medium Term Plan IV launch at State House, Nairobi, the Head of State noted that upgrading of the facility is key to revitalising the country's tourism sector.
Besides upgrading Bomas Kenya into a modern hotel, Ruto noted that it will be re-modelled into a conference facility.
Further, the President announced that the facility will be renovated to host exhibitions and unique cultural activities that market the country's tourism.

Moreover, Ruto announced that The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) will be re-engineered to increase its capacity.
"The Bomas of Kenya will be converted into a modern conference, hotel, and exhibitions facility and the KICC will be re-engineered to achieve more than it is currently," Ruto announced.
Bomas of Kenya is one of the key facilities in the country. During the 2022 General Election, Bomas of Kenya was used as a national tallying centre by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Since 1971, when it first opened its doors to the public, Bomas of Kenya has proudly welcomed over 10 million visitors.
At the moment, it boasts a conferencing facility which has hosted All African Games, international live music concerts and even wedding parties.
It also has a restaurant, Utamaduni Restaurant, that serves African cuisine.
