The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party has announced that its grassroots elections will be conducted in four phases.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, April 2, at the Party headquarters in Nairobi, UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire said the first phase of the grassroots elections will be conducted on April 26, 2024, in Nairobi, Narok, West Pokot, Busia, Homa Bay, and Garissa Counties.
Phase two of the elections will take place on June 22, 2024, in Mombasa, Uasin Gishu, Nyandarua, Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Kisii, Bungoma, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Wajir, Tana River, Kwale and Marsabit Counties.
The third phase will be conducted on August 10, 2024, in Kiambu, Embu, Kericho, Meru, Migori, Kakamega, Nyamira, Kitui, Elgeyo Marakwet, Samburu, Kajiado, Mndera, Kilifi, Muranga and Lamu Counties.
“Phase four will be conducted on August 24, 2024, in the following counties; Nakuru, Bomet, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nandi, Baringo, Turkana, Laikipia, Trans Nzoia Kisumu, Vihiga, and Makueni,” Mbarire stated.

The Embu Governor noted that the elections would be conducted electronically to ensure it is free and fair.
Upon completion of the grassroots elections, the Party will conduct county and national elections by December 2024.
At the same time, the UDA’s National Steering Committee appointed Atony Mwaura as the chairperson of the national elections board deputized by Veronica Kiberenge. Members of the board include; Linda Kiome, Jimmy Kaindi, Mary Mutina, Halake Dida, and Lydia Munika.
The NSE also constituted the Electoral Disputes Resolutions Committee with Joy Mudivo being the chairperson assisted by Adrian Kamotho. Hellen Makone, Vyone Cheropkae, Dancan Ojwang, Issac Kabria, Babra Japan, . Anjichi Joseph and Zipporah Karimi will be members.
Further, the party reconstituted the internal resolutions committee chaired by Rebecca Tonkei. Members include; Hassan Omar, Joshua Ongera, Leah Manyarkiy, Samuel Kariuki, Robert Theuri, and Ronaldo Shako.
