The latest State of the Media report by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has revealed the most popular TV stations in the country.
In the report released on Thursday, May 2, Citizen TV emerged as the most-watched TV station in Kenya with 35 percent followed by NTV with 11 percent and KTN Home with 8 percent.
MCK ranked KTN News, K24 TV, and KBC in fourth place with 7 percent of viewership each.
Inooro TV came in the fifth spot with 6 percent followed by new entrant TV47 with 5 percent.
Ramogi TV came in seventh place tying with Maisha Magic with 3 percent, and Kameme TV followed closely in eighth place with 2 percent.

Mzalendo TV, Kass TV, Mutongoi TV, Sasa TV, and International channels all tied with 1 percent of viewership.
"TV 47, a new entrant is up at 5 percent, there is something they are doing right," MCK CEO David Omwoyo stated.
According to MCK, at least 27 percent of the respondents in the survey dedicate one to two hours a day to watching TV.
“A considerable proportion of the surveyed respondents, at least 27%, allocate 1-2 hours to view television (TV) on a typical day. This represents a 2% increase from 2022 (25%) and an 8% increase from 2021 (19%). Another 20% mentioned they dedicate 3-4 hours to TV viewership,” MCK stated.
The majority of the respondents noted that they typically watch TV during prime hours between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, with an additional 9% tuning in between 4:01 PM and 6:59 PM.
The report also ranked Nairobileo.co.ke among the most visited news websites in Kenya.
In the survey, Tuko was ranked the most visited website with 13 percent, followed by Citizen Digital in second place with 9 percent and Mpasho in third place with 7 percent.
Standardmedia.co.ke, National Africa, Kenyans.co.ke, the Star, and Ghafla tied for fourth place with 3 percent each.
They were closely followed by Nairobileo.co.ke, Pulselive, and Kenya moja with 2 per cent.
The survey was conducted between February 24, 2024, and March 4, 2024, and covered all 47 counties in Kenya.
