Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has announced the recovery of land LR No. 209/8874/26 on Loitoktok Road in Kileleshwa, Nairobi County that was grabbed by a private individual.

In a statement on Sunday, May 12, Alai said they recovered the land with the help of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s office and neighboring resident associations.

The Kileleshwa MCA noted that the plot was processed, surveyed, and returned to the Nairobi County Assembly.

The prime plot will now be used for the construction of a permanent office for the Kileleshwa MCA.

“With the help of neighboring resident associations, and Governor Johnson Sakaja’s office, we have identified a county plot that was being grabbed by a private individual,” said Alai.

“We processed the documentation, surveyed the land, and returned it to the County Assembly to construct a permanent office of the Kileleshwa MCA. This piece of land will now be prepared to construct a permanent office of the MCA to serve residents,” he added.

Alai mentioned that the government should not rent offices to serve the people but should have permanent spaces.

“Governments exist perpetually, so it’s only prudent that government offices be permanent and meet citizens’ requirements,” the Azimio MCA asserted.

The land which is approximately 0.09 acres in size was originally set aside for recreational purposes before it was grabbed.

Nairobi County Secretary and Head of County Public Service Edward Gichana in a letter on May 7 gave a go-ahead for the land to be used in the construction of a ward office for Kileleshwa ward residents.
