Kenya Railways disclosed that it is about to make its customers' trips unforgettable.

Kenya Railways has announced that it will soon introduce premium service on the SGR trains between Nairobi and Mombasa.

In a statement on Tuesday, May 14, the corporation intimated that it is about to make its customers' trips unforgettable but did not give the exact date when the services will be in place.

"Luxury is about to hit the tracks! KR Premium is designed to make your trips between Nairobi and Mombasa unforgettable. Watch this space!" read the statement.

Currently, Kenya Railways offers economy and business services in the SGR trains operating between the capital and the coast.

Recently, the corporation came under attack following social media reports alleging that some students travelling from Mombasa to Nairobi were made to sit on the floor in the SGR trains.

However, in a response on Monday, May 13, Kenya Railways said it had received overwhelming demand for passenger services after the government announced the re-opening of schools.

The corporation noted that it had introduced additional economy and first-class coaches to accommodate the overwhelming number of students who had booked early.

“The Corporation further wishes to advise the public that we had already introduced additional coaches in both economy and first class to accommodate the students who had booked earlier before the postponement of the school opening dates," read part of the statement.
