The new appointments take effect immediately. 

The government has announced four new appointments to various state corporations. 

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura in a statement on Friday, May 17 said the appointments were made following a competitive recruitment process and with the concurrence of the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Koskei.

“The Government of the Republic of Kenya is pleased to announce the following appointments to various state corporations. These appointments have been made following a successful competitive recruitment process, and with the concurrence of the Chief of Staff & Head of The Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei,” Mwaura stated.

Joseph Mungai Kamau has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Athi Water Works Development Agency.

Abdallah Mohamed Hatimy has been appointed as the Managing Director. Kenya National Shipping Line Limited while Philip Kiptanui Kirwa has been named the Chief Executive Officer, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

At the same time, ICT CS Eliud Owalo appointed Agnes Kalekye Nguna as the new Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Managing Director for three years. 

“The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo, FIHRM, EGH has appointed Ms. Agnes Kalekye Nguna as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

"This appointment, which is effective immediately, will run for a period of three years,” a statement from the ICT Ministry read in part.

Prior to this appointment, Nguna was Chief Operating Officer at The Star Publications and also Chair of the Media Owners Association.
