The CS previously announced a 3-month break from issuing his opinion on political issues.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has refuted reports that he is planning to resign from his position.

In a post on his official social media handles on Friday, May 24, Kuria flagged the reports as fake, cautioning Kenyans over a fake X account that was spreading false information.

The CS asked netizens to follow his official X account (@MosesKuriaCS) for accurate updates.

"It has come to my attention that a fake Twitter account has been spreading incorrect information and opinions falsely attributed to me. Please be aware that this account is NOT mine. Thank you for your support and vigilance! Let's put an end to misinformation together," Kuria stated.

The fake account flagged by Kuria alleged that the CS would resign, claiming President Ruto was fighting Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and was working with the opposition.

"The reason Ruto is fighting our son Rigathi Gachagua is that the opposition is dining with the government. I will resign from being the Cabinet Secretary and start protecting my big brother Rigathi Gachagua, who is championing the unity of our region," read the flagged post.

This comes at a time when a section of politicians from the populous Mt. Kenya region have been on the headlines over supremacy battles.

Council of Governors Chair Anne Waiguru hit out at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday, May 20, over what she termed as 'personalization of public offices'.

It didn't take long before Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba fired at Waiguru asking her to stop lecturing Mt. Kenya leaders while she was keeping quiet when the region was struggling with economic stress.

“You are the Chair of the Council of Governors sitting pretty as we struggle with the rising economic stress, closing businesses, alcoholism, and neglect of projects by Kenya Kwanza regime which you are now defending online,” Wamuchomba stated.
