Two people lost their lives and eight others were injured after they were involved in a tragic road accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway on Monday night, May 27.

The accident, which occurred at the Salgaa area in Nakuru County, involved a 14-seater matatu and trailer that collided head-on.

Reliable reports indicate that the trailer was avoiding hitting a Probox before it crashed into the matatu. The Probox was overtaking on the wrong lane of the road.

Images from the accident scene showed the extent of the incident with the matatu's front side completely wrecked.

The eight passengers who were injured were taken to Nakuru Level Six Hospital and the deceased to the morgue of the same facility.

The incident comes just days after five people were involved in a nasty road accident along the same highway.
