The office of Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and CS for Foreign Affairs, is looking for a new office space.

In a notice on Tuesday, June 4, the Prime CS's office was looking for extra space to accommodate the UNEP and UN-Habitat missions.

"The State Department for Foreign Affairs mission is to project, promote and protect Kenya's interests and image globally through innovative diplomacy, and contribute towards a just, peaceful and equitable world. The UNON/UNEP role is to advance Kenya's Environmental Diplomatic interests through designing and implementing suitable plans and strategies that will contribute to high and sustainable social economic development.

"The state department is therefore seeking to lease office space to accommodate the two missions," read part of the notice by the office of the Prime CS.

Mudavadi's office stated that the new office should be within a radius of five kilometres from the United nations office in Gigiri and be easily accessible with the existing infrastructure.

The office's neighborhood should also be suitable for a diplomatic mission and be free from any environmental hazards.

Additionally, it should be in a secure neighborhood and be in a good state, ready for immediate occupation with sufficient space, i.e., a minimum of 14,000 square feet of lettable office space.

The office compound should be adequate enough to host garden functions for a minimum of 50 guests and a conference facility large enough to host 30 seated people.

According to the Prime CS's office, the lease period will be more than five years and the owner of the space should be willing to accept diplomatic clause and and adopt government standard lease terms.

"State Department for foreign affairs invites eligible firms/individuals to indicate their interest in providing the properties for lease. A firm will be selected in accordance with he laws governing lease agreements in the government of Kenya," read part of the notice.

Interested firms were asked to provide information to prove that they have properties meeting the required standards and deliver their interest in written form addressed to the Principal Secretary State Department for Foreign Affairs P.O. Box 30551-00100, Nairobi.

The written forms should be deposited in the tender box located at the Old Treasury Building main reception along Harambee Avenue before June 11.

The applications can also be submitted through email, i.e [email protected] or [email protected].
