The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary closure of the Uhuru Highway section between the University of Nairobi Roundabout and the Nairobi Expressway Exit.
In a statement on Friday, June 14, KeNHA said the section of the road will not be available for ten days until Sunday, June 23, 2024.
The authority noted that the closure of the section will allow maintenance work to be done on the highway.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority wishes to inform the public that there will be a temporary closure of Uhuru Highway (A8) between the University of Nairobi Roundabout and Nairobi Expressway Exit (Museum Hill Exit) along the Nakuru bound carriageway from Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11:00 pm to Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 11:00 pm. This is to allow for highway maintenance works at the section,” read the statement in part.

The section is set to be opened on Sunday, June 16 following the construction of a mid-span footbridge foundation.
