Saboti Member of Parliament has chastised National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula for presiding over the Finance Bill 2024 debate while Kenyans were protesting outside the Parliament buildings.
In a statement via X on Friday, June 28, Amisi accused Wetang’ula of lacking empathy.
The ODM MP also slammed the National Assembly Speaker for approving the deployment of the Kenya Defence Forces hurriedly without proper procedures.
“The speaker of the National Assembly has a satanic heart. A parliament destroyed, blood outside parliament of Kenyans killed while he was busy presiding over a Finance Bill, which has been rejected by president and still approving KDF hurriedly without proper procedures,” said Amisi.
The Saboti lawmaker claimed that Wetang’ula rushed out of the Parliament buildings leaving disabled MPs when anti-finance bill protestors invaded the premises.

Amisi mentioned that Wetang’ula should not preside over the National Assembly sittings without an apology and a resignation letter.
“Running faster than a gazelle in an ambulance, leaving disabled members like Hon Bishop Kosgei to burn inside parliament. He should never preside over the next sitting without apology and letter of resignation,” Amisi added.
On Tuesday, June 25, irate protestors stormed the Parliament buildings in Nairobi and set a section of it on fire.
This is despite the police officers shooting several protestors dead while they were attempting to gain access to the Parliament buildings.
The protestors uprooted the national flag within Parliament precincts with others going to parliament offices and destroyed properties.
MPs sought refuge in the basement parking of Parliament as they were evacuated by their security detail.
The National Assembly is currently on recess and is scheduled to resume sittings on July 23, 2024.
