The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced that its Integrated Customs Management System (ICMS) will be unavailable for 6 hours.

In a statement on Saturday, July 6, KRA said the system will undergo maintenance from 10:00 pm to Sunday, July 7 at 4:00 am.

The authority noted that the system maintenance will affect all iCMS users during this period.

“Kindly be advised of a scheduled iCMS maintenance from today 10.00 pm up to Sunday 7th July, 4.00 am We apologize for any inconvenience caused,” KRA stated.

The iCMS is a system that links KRA's internal systems and those of external stakeholders to achieve faster cargo clearance.

The system enables trade efficiency by increasing the speed of the cargo clearance process, reducing the complexity associated with multiple systems, automating manual processes, and re-engineering processes.

In addition, iCMS ensures a secure trade chain, facilitates regional integration by integrating with regional tax administrations, and provides cargo transparency as the system eliminates human intervention.

The system also enables countries using the port of Mombasa to track the movement of their cargo.

Imports and exports are submitted to iCMS via system-to-system data exchange 48 hours prior to the vessel's arrival or departure.

The sea manifests must include the consolidator pin to enable the cargo deconsolidation process and cargo handlers.
