The elderly woman was found lying dead on her bed with multiple cuts. 

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have launched a manhunt for robbery suspects who killed an 87-year-old woman in Mwololo village, Kwale County.

In a statement via X on Monday, July 8, the DCI said the suspects invaded the woman’s home on Sunday to steal her goat and murdered her.

“Lungalunga detectives in Kwale county have launched a manhunt for cold-blooded robber(s) who yesterday invaded the home of an 87-year-old woman at Mwololo village, and just for her goat, murdered her,” the DCI statement read in part.

The elderly woman was found lying dead on her bed with multiple cuts suspected to have been inflicted by a machete, and her only goat stolen by yet-to-be-identified violent robbers.

The murder incident has been taken up by DCI detectives based in Lungalunga who are pursuing the killers jointly with the Mwereni location authorities.

“DCI detectives based at Lungalunga have since taken over the matter, and are jointly with Mwereni location authorities combing the area for leads to her killers,” DCI added.

The investigative agency appealed to members of the public with information that could assist in the investigation to contact them on the DCI's toll-free number.
