The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has disclosed that there will be a traffic disruption a long a section of Mombasa Road for five days.

In a notice on Tuesday, July 31, KeNHA noted that the disruption will take place from Wednesday, August 7, 2024, to Sunday, August 11, 2024, near the Shell petrol station next to the Hilton Garden Inn.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Shell Petrol Station, next to Hilton Garden Inn will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa bound lanes from Wednesday August 7, 2024, to Sunday August 11, 2024,” read part of the notice.

According to the authority, the disruption was meant to allow for the construction of the mid-span footbridge foundation at the median between the service lane and the adjacent Mombasa bound lane.

“This is to allow for construction of mid-span footbridge foundation at the median between the service lane and the adjacent Mombasa bound lane,” KeNHA stated.

KeNHA urged motorists approaching the section to follow traffic rules and cooperate with the traffic officers on the site.

This comes weeks after the authority announced a traffic disruption on a section of the Thika Superhighway for five days.

In a notice on Tuesday, July 9, KeNHA disclosed that the closure was to allow the construction of the mid-span footbridge foundation at the section.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Thika Superhighway (A2) at Juja High Point will experience traffic disruption on the inner lane of Thika bound traffic from Wednesday, July 10, 2024, to Monday, July 15, 2024,” read the notice in part.
