The State Department for Immigration & Citizen Services has appealed to Kenyans who have applied for passports to collect the documents.
In a statement on Sunday, August 11, Immigration & Citizen Services Principal Secretary Julius Bitok stated that there were 110,000 passports that had been printed and were ready for collection.
"Dear Kenyans, we invite you to visit our immigration offices to collect the 110,000 passports that have been printed and are ready for pickup," Bitok remarked.
He further disclosed that the department had acquired two new machines for printing passports and the exercise was now enhanced.
At the same time, Bitok revealed that the department had opened more offices across the country to bring the services closer to the public.

"As we speak now, we have continued opening more offices. We recently opened Kericho office, Bungoma office and we are now going to Nyeri, Garissa and Machakos so that we take these services closer to the people," he stated.
On July 31, Bitok noted that the department will dispose of all uncollected passports after six months.
In a notice, he stated that the move was in line with Section 31 of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act and Regulation.
“To free up limited storage space, applicants are notified that department will dispose of all uncollected passports Six (6) months from the date of this notice.
"This is in line with the following laws and regulations: Section 31 of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act and Regulations, Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (CAP 38) and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) regulations on the delivery of travel documents,” Bitok explained.
