The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a traffic disruption at Haile Selassie Roundabout on Uhuru Highway from Saturday, August 31, 2024, to Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
In a notice dated August 28, KeNHA disclosed that the disruption will be due to the construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section.
“This traffic disruption is due to scheduled road works for construction of pedestrian underpass at the section which will commence from Saturday August 31, 2024 to Tuesday October 15, 2024,” read part of the notice by KeNHA.
Due to the disruption, the highways authority noted that vehicles from Upperhill towards Waiyaki Way will use the diversion at Greenpark.
KeNHA further maintained that the vehicles from Mombasa Road to Waiyaki Way will also use the same diversion at Greenpark.

At the same time, the vehicles from Waiyaki Way to Mombasa Road will use the diversion at Rubis Petrol Station.
The vehicles from Nairobi CBD to Mombasa Road will also use the diversion at Rubis Petrol Station or the ring road behind Neno Evangelism Church.
However, KeNHA noted that vehicles from Nairobi CBD towards Upperhill or vice versa will not be disrupted.
The highways authority asked motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with traffic officers.
The notice comes days after KeNHA announced a month-long traffic disruption at the Gitaru interchange along Waiyaki Way.
The disruption is due to ongoing road works for the construction of the Southeastern loop of the Gitarui interchange.
