The DCI beat their equals from, among others, Ghana and Uganda to be the top agency across Africa.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been hailed as one of the most effective investigations bodies on the African continent.

According to a study by Kenya Trak, the Kenyan main investigations agency has outdone its equals across the continent thanks to its ability to probe complex matters and criminal cases

"Kenya's DCI is a powerhouse when it comes to investigating major crimes. With teams dedicated to handling everything from cybercrime to terrorism, drug trafficking, land cartels and car syndicates, this agency has become a crucial part of the country's law enforcement landscape." the study established.

The agency, currently under Mohamed Amin's leadership, was praised for employing modern techniques and well-informed teams of sleuths to undertake its duties.

Among the DCI's ultramodern amenities were the advanced forensic labs, which were said to have boosted their ability to track digital crime and organized gangs.

According to the pollster, the DCI has built its profile over the years by pursuing successful high-profile investigations and partnering with international law enforcement bodies.

The Kenyan agency took to its official X handle to celebrate the feat.

"DCI ranked the most effective investigative agency in Africa," it said.

Trailing the DCI in second place was Ghana's Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Uganda's Criminal Investigations Department (CID) fell in the third place.
