Kenya Power has explained the loss of electricity witnessed in some parts of the country on Monday, September 30.

In response to queries from their customers on X (formerly Twitter), the utility firm revealed that there was a power outage in several parts of the country.

The national power supplier added that technicians have already been deployed to resolve the issue facing some areas in Nairobi and the country.

The firm apologized for the outage, adding that the matter would be resolved promptly.

Notably, the main cause of the outage was not revealed.

"Hello, we are experiencing a power outage affecting several parts of the country and our technical team are working to restore. Inconveniences are highly regretted," Kenya Power responded to customers on their X account.

According to affected customers, the outage started a few minutes past 11 am.

Major parts of the country that witnessed the blackout were estates along Waiyaki Way, Utawala, and estates around Thika Road among others.

Meanwhile, several areas around the Nyanza region are experiencing a scheduled blackout that was occasioned by planned maintenance.

The affected counties include Kisii, Kericho, and Migori. The planned interruption began at 7 am and will end at 5 pm.
