Irungu Kang'ata Questions to Uhuru as He Joins Ruto's Tanga Tanga

Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata posed questions to Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta after his ouster from the Senate Chief Whip position.

Speaking in Kiambu on Friday Kang'ata wondered whether he was in the wrong in his letter to the president.

Kang'ata was unveiled as a pro-Tanga Tanga politician after he accompanied Deputy President William Ruto today in Kiambaa.

"I voted for Uhuru in 2002 even when he failed to get the presidency, I voted for him in 2013 and I voted for him in 2017, he is not the problem. The problem came in when this 'riddles' guy came in," the Murang'a senator said.

"Was I wrong to write that letter to Uhuru... I was punished because I spoke the truth, don't you this so?" he continued.

Last month the senator stated that people of the region have some pertinent issues to be addressed before they accept the BBI.

Chief Whip Ouster 

He said matters to do with coffee and tea which are the main cash crops in the region, have been marred by numerous challenges over the years and local farmers think they should be given the first priority before any clamour for constitutional amendments.

“I just stated the plain truth for the president to know and to take remedial action," the senator said.

"People in the mountain region want some bedevilling problems to be addressed first and the BBI process to come the second,” he continued.

Kangata was removed from the position during a PG meeting chaired by Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju on Tuesday.

Tuju said the Murang'a senator was axed from the position for questionable loyalty, lack of decorum, and breach of confidentiality.
