"It is with profound sadness that I have learnt of the passing on of former Bonchari Constituency Member of Parliament Zebedeo John Opore.
"Throughout his illustrious political career, he demonstrated unshakeable commitment to his constituents by championing for their interests in and out of Parliament. He held deepest respect for both young and old. The people of Bonchari have lost a true champion and Kenya has lost a voice of reason with the passing of Opore," Okenyuri remarked.

In 2013, the late former lawmaker was elected as the MP for Bonchari Constituency in a by-election, having previously served in the same position in 1997.
Opore was elected on a Ford People party ticket after the Court of Appeal nullified the election of John Oyioka.
He later lost the Bonchari by-election in March 2021, where he ran under the Jubilee Party ticket.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate, Pavel Robert Oimeke, was declared the winner.
Opore's death comes after he lost his wife Mama Angelina Opore in November, 2021.
