Cherargei is Useless - Oscar Sudi Goes After UDA Senator

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has criticised Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and former Agriculture Minister Kipruto arap Kirwa, whom he labelled as 'political twins.' 

In a statement on Tuesday, October 29, Sudi termed Cherargei and Kirwa as useless as he dismissed their political opinion.

“In Kenyan politics, Kipruto arap Kirwa and Samson Cherargei, often seen as political twins, spewing complex English to intrigue and confound. Yet, beneath the polished words, they're as useless as chicken eggs. Very useless," Sudi remarked.

The lawmaker's remarks come as Cherargei faces criticism over a bill that he sponsored that seeks to extend office term limits of elected leaders, including the president, to seven years from the current five years.

Speaking in the Senate on Tuesday, October 29, the Nandi Senator claimed that 60 percent of Kenyans are supporting the bill compared to 40 percent who are against it. 

"I want to report to the House that the Senate email system has received 500,000 emails reacting to my bill. As of now, 60 percent of Kenyans are supporting my bill and 40 percent are opposing it," Cherargei claimed.

The lawmaker, however, claimed that he has been a victim of a data breach after he asserted that he received over 12,000 text messages from Kenyans in the past week.

"Even data protection, I have been a victim for the last one week. I have received insults on my phone. As we speak today, my phone has over 12,000 messages, and I have close to 20,000 WhatsApp messages. I have received so many phone calls and there's a data privacy breach that no one is addressing," Cherargei claimed.

Meanwhile, the Senate concluded the public participation exercise on the bill on Friday, October 25.
