DCI has responded to reports that it has summoned Martha Karua.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed claims that it summoned NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua.

In an update on its social media pages on Wednesday, October 30, the investigating agency shared a copy of a letter that summoned Karua to DCI Headquarters and labeled it as fake.

According to the fake letter, Karua was directed to appear at the DCI Headquarters in Kiambu Road on Friday, November 1, to provide information on alleged abduction operations under the infamous Ngoroko Squad.

This comes a week after DCI summoned impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after the latter claimed there were two attempts to assassinate him before the impeachment motion.

In a letter dated October 21, 2024, DCI asked Gachagua to appear at the DCI Headquarters on Tuesday, October 22, to record a statement following the claims.

"These are serious allegations emanating from a person of your stature and cannot be taken lightly. In light of the seriousness of this matter we kindly request your presence on 22nd October 2024 at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters, Mazingira Complex-Kiambu Road, to formally record your statement to enable prompt and thorough investigations into the matter," DCI said in the letter.

Gachagua is yet to honour the summon at the time of this publishing.
