Details of the surgery were made public by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi on Wednesday, October 29 during the morning session.

According to the communication by Kingi, the CS's surgery was conducted three days ago.

She was recovering well until Wednesday morning when she woke up with a swollen eye.

Therefore, Kingi informed the senators that the CS would not be able to appear in the House to answer questions relating to her docket.

"I had a phone call discussion with the PS in that Ministry. The CS had undergone eye surgery I think three days ago. By yesterday, she was very much willing to come," Kingi told the senators.

"This morning she woke up with a swollen eye that she cannot even see."

Consequently, the speaker informed the House that the questions directed to the CS would be handled on another day.

"That is a valid reason and we will have to differ those questions that were to be responded to by the CS," he directed.
