Former Kimilili Constituency Member of Parliament Suleiman Kasuti Murunga has died.
Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa confirmed the news of Murunga's demise on Wednesday, October 30, as he sent condolences to his constituents.
"With a heavy heart, I wish to give my sincere condolences to my people of Kimilili Constituency for the loss of our former member of parliament Suleiman Kasuti Murunga. My deepest sympathies are with his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace," Barasa stated.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula also mourned the former Kimilili legislator as a champion for the needs of his community who advocated for development and social justice.
"It is with profound sorrow and sadness that I express my condolences on the passing of Hon. Suleiman Murunga, former MP for Kimilili. As a member of Ford Kenya, he not only represented his constituents with integrity but also played a pivotal role as the party's Director of Elections, contributing significantly to the political landscape of our nation," Wetang'ula remarked.

Murunga served as the MP for Kimilili between 2013 and 2017, and he was a member of the FORD-Kenya party, which was then led by Wetang'ula.
His demise comes just a few weeks after former Bonchari Constituency Member of Parliament Zebedeo John Opore passed away.
Opore passed away on Friday, October 18, following a long illness.
"It is with profound sadness that I have learnt of the passing on of former Bonchari Constituency Member of Parliament Zebedeo John Opore.
"Throughout his illustrious political career, he demonstrated unshakeable commitment to his constituents by championing for their interests in and out of Parliament," nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri announced on October 18.
