"I believe Kenya, and in particular the IEBC, can learn from the US about how to conduct a free, fair, and credible election."

Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed admiration for how the United States conducted its elections.

In his congratulatory message to President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday, November 6, the Wiper leader noted that Kenya's Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) can learn from the US on how to run a free and fair election.

"Americans have placed their trust in your ideas and leadership, as evidenced by the outcomes of the electoral college and popular vote. Over 150 million Americans voted in the historic November 5 election, and their votes were counted, tallied, and announced in less than 24 hours. I believe Kenya, and in particular the IEBC can learn from the United States about how to conduct a free, fair, and credible election," Kalonzo wrote on X.

Trump has made a stunning comeback to reclaim the White House after trouncing Kamala Harris to win the 2024 US presidential election.

In the tightly contested race, the Republican Party candidate surpassed the 270 college votes needed to clinch the U.S. top seat.

In his acceptance speech in Florida on Wednesday morning, a hopeful Trump thanked the Americans for taking to the ballot to elect him as president.

"I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honour of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president.

"This was, I believe, one of the greatest political movements of all time and now it’s going to reach a new level of importance because we’re going to help our country heal. Our country needs to help, we are going to fix our borders and fix everything about our country," he said.

He was joined by his running mate JD Vance and his wife Usha, and UFC president Dana White.
