Activist Kasmuel McOure has thrown his weight behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and rallied young Kenyans to join the party.
In a statement on Sunday, November 10, McOure stated ODM is the party for the future, claiming that it is the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa.
"If you’re willing to join a substantive political movement for a fair, democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, consider ODM—the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!
"We’re revitalizing the Youth and Students’ Leagues and are calling on passionate young Kenyans to help shape our future. Stand with us," McOure remarked.
The activist pledged to engage in a nationwide campaign to register young people to join the Raila Odinga-led party.

"We will go out in outreach like never before and register not only the educated but the uneducated and the people who are in technical institutions to bring them to the party of the president of the future. Actually, every Kenyan is an ODM member just by virtue," McOure stated.
ODM National Chairperson Gladys Wanga echoed McOure's sentiments, adding that the future of the party is in the hands of young people.
"ODM is the party of the future and the future of ODM is in the hands of our young people. That is why we want strong involvement of brilliant young people with a brilliant future like Kasmuel McOure," Wanga said.
The remarks by McOure come after he received backlash following his meeting with Raila at his Capitol Hill office last month.
The activist described his meeting with Raila as a proud moment, adding that the decision to meet the former prime minister was intentional.
"This was no secret. It is a moment that I'm proud of and own fully. It was a deliberate decision, shaped by a Kenyan reality I've sought your guidance on multiple times without receiving clear answers," he explained.
