Additionally, TSC said requirements for the posts are as per the website advert, adding that successful candidates will be posted where the vacancies exist.
Meanwhile, TSC CEO Nancy Macharia recently revealed that the commission has found challenges in recruiting teachers for science subjects.
Speaking during a meeting with the National Assembly Committee on Education on October 23, 2024, she said few teachers had trained in science subjects.
Macharia noted that most graduates had undertaken arts studies hence the scarcity of science subjects.
"We are not saying that these teachers are not trained but the majority of teachers who come from the colleges including the universities have studied arts. People who go for higher qualifications also go for arts," she stated.
However, Macharia stated that they had issued advisories to the Ministry of Education and Universities to encourage more students to take up science subjects.
