The national carrier has responded after the job advert made rounds on social media.

Kenya Airways has flagged a job advertisement making rounds on social media claiming that there are vacant positions in the airline.

In a statement on Tuesday, November 12, KQ stated that the advertisement is fake, maintaining that it did not emanate from the airline.

The national carrier clarified that accurate hiring information can be retrieved from its official social media channels and website.

"Please be aware that the message circulating on social media regarding job openings at Kenya Airways is FAKE and did not come from us. For accurate and hiring information, always refer to our official website and channels," Kenya Airways stated.

The advertisement, which has now been flagged as fake, claimed there were vacancies for various positions including airline food server, flight attendant, receptionist, booking clerk and security officer.

This comes after the airline announced plans to add flights to five routes during the upcoming peak season.

In a statement dated Friday, October 11, the national carrier listed five major routes targeted in the plan, including Kigali, Rwanda, Zanzibar, Plaine Magnien (Mauritius) and Moroni (Comoros Islands).

"Effective October 28, 2024, there will be one additional flight frequency from Nairobi to Comoros on Thursdays. The flights will now operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

"Effective October 27, 2024, there will be an additional flight from Mauritius to Nairobi. The flights will now operate on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday," read the statement in part.
