Murang'a County Assembly (MCA) member Mark Wainaina, nominated by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, has died.
The news of his demise was confirmed on Wednesday, November 13, by Sharleen Wambui, a Murang'a MCA.
"Rest with the angels my friend Mark Wainaina," Wambui remarked.
Earlier, Wambui disclosed that he was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after his lungs failed. She appealed for financial help towards the medical expenses of Wainaina even as she maintained that he was under good medical care.
"Family and friends, we invite you to help us raise some funds for our brother Mark Wainaina who is currently being treated for severe pneumonia, which has caused all his vital organs to stop functioning and is currently in the ICU. Please support us," Wambui stated.

She added, "Mark Wainaina nominated to represent PWD in the county assembly of Murang'a, is battling a very rare condition. We thank all those that have supported us financially without judging."
Meanwhile, the Murang'a County Assembly had organised a fundraising dinner for the now-deceased MCA as it appealed for financial support.
The fundraiser was scheduled for Friday, November 15, at Sagret Hotel, Milimani, Nairobi, from 6:00 p.m.
"The Murang'a County Assembly Members Caucus invites you to a fundraising dinner in aid of one of our Members, Hon. Mark G. Wainaina, who has been diagnosed with a severe pulmonary disease that has caused both of his lungs to fail,’’ read part of the appeal.
