The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has unveiled the identity of the main suspect behind the murder of Kirinyaga County Assembly Nominated MCA Lucy Njeri's daughter, Seth Nyakio.
In an update on Thursday, November 14, the investigating agency said Ken Kimathi Gichunuku alias Sultan went into hiding after killing Nyakio whose body was found at her friend's house in Biafra, Thika township.
DCI described Kimathi as dangerous, adding that he has a criminal record having threatened to kill in the past.
"Notably, Gichunuku has a criminal record of threatening to kill as evidenced in a September 25, 2024 court case, and detectives are considering him dangerous to anyone he deems might expose him.
"Do you know his whereabouts? Have you any information that might assist in his speedy arrest? Call our toll free hotline 0800 722 203 any time to report anonymously, or report to any police station near you," DCI said.

Nyakio, a graduate of Zetech University, was found murdered on October 14, 2024, with preliminary police investigations suggesting that she was strangled.
"I saw visible injuries on the neck. My daughter lay peacefully and you could even think we were talking to each other because the spirit had not departed from me. And she was the one," Njeri told the media.
Njeri noted that her daughter went missing on October 12, 2024, after leaving her home in Kamakis to visit a friend in Thika township.
The nominated MCA tried to contact her daughter on the following day but to no avail, only to receive a phone call on October 14, 2024, informing her of her daughter's death.
"It was murder and so many other shocking things that no parent would have liked to have passed the pain my daughter has died with. And also the trauma and shock I have been left with. I loved her so much. For now, I don't have any child. I had only her," Njeri said.
