On Friday, November 29, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted an open day as part of the celebrations to mark 60 years of Kenya's diplomacy.
In the events held at KICC and the Ministry Headquarters, various foreign embassies set up desks to enable Kenyans to ask questions regarding embassy programmes and Kenya's journey in the diplomatic arena.
As part of enlightening Kenyans on Kenya's policies, Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing'oei also held a Q and A session with the attendees.
Notable attendees at the Friday event included Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

During the celebrations, various activities will be held across the country including a Gala dinner to be led by President William Ruto at KICC on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Meanwhile, the Ministry unveiled various initiatives that will be held to celebrate the 60-year milestones.
"There will be a symposium for young Kenyans interested in pursuing diplomatic careers to foster the next generation of Kenyan diplomats and global thinkers," read the programme by the Ministry.
"The celebrations will feature events and forums that will actively involve Kenyans living abroad, fostering a sense of belonging and connection to their homeland as well as highlighting their significant contributions to national development and Kenya’s diplomatic efforts, both in their host countries and on the global stage."
Additionally, the Ministry is set to host an award ceremony to honour some of the Kenyans who have represented Kenya's interests in foreign countries.
The 60-year celebrations are set to end on Saturday, December 7, 2024, with events held in Uasin Gishu County.
