Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has blasted President William Ruto after he claimed that some people were opposing every proposed government project.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, December 4, Sifuna claimed that President Ruto's statements do not go hand in hand with his actions.
The lawmaker went ahead to assure Kenyans that no one should threaten them and asserted that he is the spirit opposing government projects.
“I want to tell Kenyans, do not allow anybody to threaten you. You have already taken back your power. You used to live like you didn’t know you have more power than these people. You are more powerful than all of us.
"Keep monitoring us as leaders. If someone says that there is a spirit of opposing, I am that spirit. And your statement, Mr. President, do not go in line with your actions and those of your government,” Sifuna remarked.

At the same time, he claimed that Senate will summon Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho after his remarks that he will go after those speaking ill of the government.
We, as Members of Parliament, will summon Joho to Parliament to explain why he is threatening Kenyans, saying he will come for them. Who is he coming for, and in what way? He should remember that he is no longer the Governor of Mombasa or the Deputy Party Leader of ODM; he left those positions. He is now a Cabinet Secretary and should speak as one," Sifuna stated.
The lawmaker went ahead to claim that the leaders who are arrogant to the public will 'go home' when the time comes.
Sifuna's remarks follow President Ruto's statement on Tuesday, where he claimed that a negative spirit of opposing all government initiatives was lingering.
